Why Is Vaccination So Important?
Vaccination is one of the most important tools we have to prevent the spread of disease. The CDC’s guidance on community control of Covid-19 will help ensure that people are vaccinated and can help prevent the spread of the disease. Vaccination is especially important for people who are at high risk for complications from Covid-19, such as those with underlying medical conditions or pregnant women. The vaccine also protects those around the person who has been vaccinated and reduces the likelihood of a person getting sick if they come into contact with someone who has the virus.

How Does the Vaccine Work?
The vaccine works by protecting people from the three common types of flu viruses. The CDC recommends that everyone 6 months and older get a flu vaccine every year. The best way to protect yourself from the flu is to get vaccinated, take everyday preventive actions like washing your hands, and stay home when you are sick. The Food and Drug Administration approved the use of influenza vaccine for treatment in December 2018.

Who Should Get Vaccinated?
The CDC is expected to update its guidance on community control of Covid-19 in the coming days. The new guidance is expected to recommend that everyone over the age of six months be vaccinated against the virus. This is a change from the previous guidance, which only recommended that people at high risk for complications from the virus be vaccinated. The new guidance is based on the latest scientific evidence, which shows that the vaccine is safe and effective for people of all ages. The CDC says it will continue to monitor the effects of the vaccine as more data becomes available. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under five years old receive the first dose now, with additional doses as needed.

What Can I Do to Prevent Infection?
Covering your nose and mouth when you sneeze and cough, washing your hands often, and avoiding close contact with people who are sick are all good ways to prevent infection. Wear a professional N95 face masks during your commute time and avoid large social gathering.
